The question is not whether AI can be useful to you, but exactly where - and at what cost to your data.
This is the area where you are currently being sold the most useless things. Our approach is the opposite: start from what takes up your time, and see whether a tool genuinely reduces it. Often yes, on two or three specific tasks. Rarely everywhere.
Where does your data go? Pasting a contract, a customer file or an employee record into a consumer tool amounts to handing it to a third party, sometimes outside Europe, possibly for use in training. That is not trivial for a business subject to GDPR. There are business offerings that contractually exclude such use, and solutions that run on your own machines. We always start with this point.
Replacing a skill with a tool. AI quickly produces a plausible text, including when it is wrong: on a quote, a contract or technical advice, review by someone who knows remains essential. The gain is in writing time, not in responsibility.
We also advise against projects that start from the tool rather than the need. If nobody in the business can say which task will be lightened, the project will produce nothing - whatever the technology.
A review first: what takes up your time, what repeats, what gets stuck. An hour or two of discussion is enough to rule out the false good ideas.
A limited trial next, on a single task, measuring the time actually saved. That is what separates a useful practice from one more subscription.
Then the rollout: choosing the offering according to confidentiality requirements, configuration, and above all training your team. A tool nobody knows how to question properly is of no use.
Allow for a subscription per person per month for business offerings, plus the time to set it up and train people - which is often the main cost in the first year.
The sum is done on a specific task: if writing customer replies takes an hour a day and drops to twenty minutes, the subscription pays for itself within days. If the gain cannot be measured, the tool is not justified - and we will tell you so.
AI serves attackers too: fake messages are better written than they used to be, fraudulent calls more convincing, and imitating a voice has become easy. Yesterday's giveaways - spelling mistakes, odd phrasing - are no longer enough.
