Accessibility statement

Our commitment

SOS Informatique helps a great many older people, and people who are not comfortable with computers. A site they cannot read would be a contradiction. So we work to make this site usable by as many people as possible, following the French RGAA accessibility standard and the WCAG 2.1 guidelines.

What is in place

• Keyboard navigation: every page can be browsed with the Tab key, and a "Skip to content" link lets you jump past the menu on the very first tab.
• Clear structure: one main heading per page, properly nested subheadings, and a breadcrumb on every inner page.
• Described images: every image carries a text alternative, and purely decorative images are ignored by screen readers.
• Labelled forms: every field has its label, required fields are marked, and error messages explain what is wrong.
• Resizable text: pages stay readable and usable at up to 200% zoom, with no horizontal scrolling.
• Limited animation: if your device is set to reduce motion, the site turns its animations off.
• Declared language: each page states its language, so screen readers pronounce it correctly.
• No traps: no blocking pop-up, no audio or video playing by itself, no countdown forcing your hand.

What still needs work

We would rather say it than hide it:

• No external audit has been carried out. Our checks are our own, done with automated tools and from the keyboard.
• Contrast ratios have not all been measured one by one. Some secondary text, in light grey, may fall short.
• The chat widget and the map come from outside services, over which we have no control.
• The PDF documents we produce, quotes and invoices, are not tagged for screen readers. We are happy to send the same information by email, as plain text.

We answer within one working day. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can refer the matter to the Défenseur des droits, the French rights defender, who has a delegate in every department and whose services are free.

How we check

With every significant change, we check keyboard navigation, heading structure, image alternatives and form labelling, on desktop and on mobile. These checks are partly automated, so they miss whatever needs human judgement: whether an alternative is apt, or a text is clear.
